Braid backing Sale to bounce back

Sale captain Dan Braid is looking for his team-mates to bounce back against Wasps at the AJ Bell Stadium on Saturday.

Braid was speaking after his side's 33-17 defeat to Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park, where the Sharks showed plenty of endeavour, scoring two tries through Will Addison and Josh Beaumont.

However, they couldn't stop an impressive Exeter side from securing the five points.

"Wasps are playing very well this season, with a lot of fire power in the backs and forwards," said Braid.

"We'll back the attitude that we had playing against the Chiefs and take it into the game. We enjoy playing at the AJ Bell Stadium, so we'll look forward to that."

Braid was encouraged by his side's performance in their defeat against Exeter but feels they can still improve.

"It was a brave effort, the boys fronted up physically and the attitude was there, but the skill execution wasn't quite there," added the former All Blacks flanker.

"It was a tough breeze that we took in the first half, and Exeter did well to hold a lot of possession early on. We took our chances to go in level at half time.

"We managed to get a good try early on in the second half, but with a few errors here and there, plus with that strong wind, we got stuck at the wrong end of the field and couldn't get anything from the game."
